I think I like the black better than the purple, it connects the two elements together more, the purple seems to take away from the unity. I think the smoky wisps seem more dynamic than the bubbles and connect more with the breath aspect of your design, but see what others say.
Way to keep working with it, it's becoming more interesting and dynamic. I encourage you to think of the overall shape your logo is taking on– at this point, it is primarily rectangular, which doesn't seem to hold any relevance to the style you are adapting or the story of your brand. See how else you can arrange these letterforms (maybe breaking them up to work with the letters individually) that could make the overall composition more interesting. In addition, play with the orientation of the wordmark and symbol– breaking it in half is one way, but there are others you can experiment with that may create more visual interest.
